I MISS YOU PAPAW SKIPPY
by Tiffany Hartsock

A merry, joyous, holiday dawn broke,
St. Nick left behind his presence,
your memories lingered as I woke.
Nothing has been the same since...
Fresh apple pie sits upon the table
those great elephant jokes told so well.
Slowly, yet suddenly you were leavin'...
There was hardly time to bid a proper farewell.
Christmas was hardly the same without you.
Several "Santa's" shouted "Ho, Ho, Ho"...
Many hoped for something new,
I hoped only for your Heavenly spirit to show.
Pausing, long enough to know you were here,
Watching over all of us from above.
Partly erasing, at my eye, a tear.
An embracing remembering of your love,
will forever and ever be with me.
Your gifts of memories and love unending,
are more than I could ever give to thee.
To Heaven this message I am sending:
Merry Christmas, Papaw, I souly love thee!

GREAT GRANDMA ZONA
by Tiffany L. Hartsock

For every visit, her eyes always bright,
anxiously awaiting story telling and chit chat.
Now those eyes have brightened to the Light,
as she walks across Heaven's welcome mat.
Stories told time to precious time again,
recollections both funny and tragically sad,
of ones she loved through all that has been,
laughter arising as we all, equally glad,
immitated the sounds of a monkey,
these being only a few memories she kindly took,
to instill upon our hearts with gentle ease.
Life long lessons not taken from any book,
she placed in the hearts of the young,
as well as the older and wiser,
taken from experience she lived through and among.
Surviving life with love from more than some,
but all including her Heavenly Saviour's grace.
Thy love stays with those left behind.
Watch over us from thy new heavenly place,
To eternity our love and His love endlessly binds.

MEMORIES OF PAPAW SKIPPY
by Tiffany L. Hartsock

Watching him while silently recalling.
He lies perfectly still as our minds race.
Memories flooding as tears are falling.
Traveling backward to the "good old days"
The one man who knew no stranger at all.
Whom loved relating both old and new jokes.
Sitting on his lap, back when we were small.
Bouncing us as though light as two old cloaks.
Many fishing trips have gone by since then.
Many lost fish but he never did mind.
He came back swearing to soon go again.
And that "BIG ONE" still waits to bite his line.
Memories go beyond time together.
We shall remember his love forever!
